We were saddened to learn of the passing of Chair of the Father’s Day Council, Don Parsons on 22 April 2017.

Don was a compassionate, kind and caring man. We miss you deeply; your leadership, your stories and your wisdom.

Chris is “first to arrive and last to go home” at his local football and netball club and is a respite carer for a child with Down syndrome.

He was nominated by his daughter Aimee, 21, who said: “Everyone should be so lucky to have a dad like ours. He’s always supported all of us 100 per cent in our dreams – even when they’re a little crazy – and he’d do anything for us, anytime.”

Chris and his wife Rowena are parents to Aimee, Haiden, Emma and Lisa and grandparents to Oscar and Harry.

The Berrys volunteer with Interchange on monthly weekend visits to care for five-year-old Daniel, who has Down syndrome.

Chris also gives much of his time to Euroa Football and Netball Club. He drives the team bus, is team trainer to all three grades of football and helps at every club function.

Long-time friend Barb Putamorsi said: “He’s quite simply a great everyday dad doing extraordinary things. He’s got very special qualities and is willing to share these with families outside of his own.”
