The Father’s Day Council of Victoria, an independent association, has been operating in Victoria since 1956. It was established to:

• Recognise, through annual awards, exemplary fathers of outstanding character who may be role models.
• Promote such awards in the media, and elsewhere, to raise the profile of fathers dedicated to their families and family life.
• Recognise and to advance the status of good fathering practices.
• Call on organisations, companies and people committed to good fathering to support the purposes of the Association.

The Council is managed by a Committee of Management.
